FILM CLUB IT. EVIL EYE is an initiative of (alphabetically): Bert Beyens, Danny Devos, Frank Heirman, Eddy Nolf, Toon Sarens, Pieter Van Bogaert, Annemie Van Kerckhoven and Danny Van Looy.

This group of eight puts together the program. HET KWADE OOG wants to bring a greater variety to the film offering in Antwerp.
Films that enjoy normal distribution in the cinema are not shown; Nor do films that regularly appear on television (unless in an interesting program combination with other films).

THE EVIL EYE presents CLASSICS in a new context: NIAGARA (with Marilyn Monroe) versus WILLOW SPRINGS (from "EXPERIMENTAL" (ENTUSIASM/Vertov vs. WAVELENGTH/Snow). Werner Schroeter) for example. CLASSIC versus CONTEMPORARY Or on one and the same evening: LENI RIEMENSTAHL and MAYA DEREN.

A film evening of HET KWADE OOG is often an EVENT: the silent film IMPAIIENCE "sonorized" LIVE by a saxophonist; THE PRESENCE OF CINEASTS who introduce their film(s) and then discuss them (Emile Degelin and Frans Zwartjes); GUEST SPEAKERS who introduce films in a very unique way (Stefan Franck, Paul Bottelberghs). data about films and filmmakers.

A real PROGRAM SHEET is always offered with interesting information about films and filmmakers.

In the past two years, HET KWADE OOG presented no fewer than 55 different (short and long) films. Documentaries and feature films, from 10 countries.

THE EVIL EYE has quickly become a household name for true film enthusiasts.
THE EVIL EYE turns movie watching into a social event again. (Chatting for hours about a film is possible again and finally no longer suspicious!) THE EVIL EYE is "Flanders' last autonomous film club"; (some claim it is the "first").
The collaboration with DE OTHER FILM is based solely on historically developed administrative-affective factors (!) and has no influence on the programming.
THE EVIL EYE is not sponsored or subsidized.

We would like to invite our regular guests to become a MEMBER of HEI EVIL EYE.
For only 200 francs you will receive our announcement card by post for 12 months, and you pay 180 francs per performance. (Non-members now pay 200 francs).
It is the only way to keep THE EVIL EYE autonomous and workable.

Next month you will "just" find an envelope in your mailbox for the last time; there will then be a transfer form to deposit the 200 francs.

But luckily you don't have to wait for that piece of paper.
