THE EVIL EYE
Season '92-'93
Filmclub Het Kwade Oog will start its fourth season in September. The first performances will take place in the cinema of the municipal primary school, Quellinstraat 31 in Antwerp (2 minutes from Central Station). From April the screenings will take place in the new cinema room of the royal palace, in collaboration with Eldorado (Centre for Visual Culture vzw).
The program will mainly focus on avant-garde work in the style of what Dekeukelaire (after whose Het Kwade Oog this film club is named) did in the 1930s: filmmakers who used other means of expression in art. These can be very current programs, such as the films of Jevgenij Yufit that we will premiere in the Benelux, but also historically important programs, such as the program about the Wiener Aktionists with which we open the season.
Below you will find the general program for the '92-'93 season. The programmers of Her Kwade Oog strive for unexpected, yet fascinating combinations. Small additions may occur at the last minute. We will of course keep you informed every month about any changes.
